Are there any requirements to join? Yes. As a racing team, we have qualifying times that must be met in order to be eligible to run for us. Male runners need to run an age-graded equivalent of a 10K in 6 minutes per mile or less and female runners need to run an age-graded equivalent of a 10K in 7 minutes per mile or less. You can also qualify by running a comparable time at other standard distances such as 100 Meters, 200 Meters, 400 Meters, 800 Meters, 1 Mile, 1,600 Meters, 3000 Meters, 5K, 8K, 5M, 10M, 13.1M, and/or 26.2M.

Am I required to run specific races? No. There are no specific race requirements, however you can only earn PRMM merchandise and discounted shoes by participating in specific team races. PRMM merchandise will also be available for purchase by members.

Can I run other races? Yes. You are free to run any race you wish.

What do I get for belonging? Besides the pleasure of our company, the chance to make new training partners and improve your running ability, and the opportunity to compete as part of a team in top New England races you get:

Club singlet at your first team race
Club jacket after running 4 team races.
Opportunity to earn pairs of running shoes for running 8+ team races.
E-Mail newsletter approximately 18 times per year
Website with club news and schedule
Potential to win team prize money
Club tent at team races
Regular team workouts across New England

Does the team have coaching? Not at the current time, but we hope to have a new coach in place by Spring 2006.

What happens if we win prize money? If team prize money is awarded to the team it may be split among all members of the winning team, not just the scoring members. If it is awarded to the scoring runners on the winning team, it will not be split. In keeping with scholastic and NCAA rules, high school and college members are ineligible to receive prize money. Their prize money will go to the club treasury and they will be awarded merchandise instead.

I already belong to a running club. Can I still join? If you belong to another running club you are still eligible to join the PR Moose Milers Racing Team, but if you are USATF NE registered with your other running club you must compete for 3 months as unattached (or get a waiver from your other club) before you are eligible to compete for the PR Moose Milers Racing Team. You are still free to keep your membership in your other running club, but as a PR Moose Miler you will not be able to compete for them in any USATF NE races.

I am still in high school or college. Can I still join? Yes. But there are some limitations, as we do not allow our racing schedule to interfere with your high school or college racing seasons. Your high school or college team always takes precedence over our racing schedule. You can only compete for us during your off season and we have specific limits as to the numbers of races and total racing distance that you can run during your off season(s). If you do not compete on your schools cross country or track teams you can join without any limitations.

Where are you located? While the mailing address for the PR Moose Milers Racing Team is in Merrimack, NH, individual members live all across New England, especially in areas that are not served by clubs that actively compete in the USATF NE races. We currently have local chapters of runners in and around Nashua, NH; Lewiston, ME; Manchester, NH; Durham, NH; Keene, NH; the Monadnock Region of NH; Andover/Salisbury; NH; Burlington, VT; White River Jct, VT/Hanover, NH/Dartmouth, NH; Wolfeboro, NH; Martha's Vineyard/Nantucket, MA; and New Bedford/Fall River, MA. Chapters are forming south of Boston, in the White Mountains of NH, and on Cape Cod & the Islands. We also have individual runners in various locations in MA, NH, ME, RI, CT, and VT.

OK. I'm hooked. How do I join? Fill out the membership application and mail it to: PR Moose Milers Racing Team, Racing Team Manager, 160 Amherst Road, Merrimack, NH 03054. You must include a print out of a qualifying race (see times below) that you have run since January 1, 2000. You will receive a confirmation of your membership by email within 2 weeks of our receipt of your application.
