PR Moose Milers Stellar At Apple Harvest 10M

To Hold Onto USATF NE Gran Prix Lead

Strong Turnout Needed At Cape Cod Marathon To Win Overall Championship

The PR Moose Milers Racing Team finished 5th overall at the Apple Harvest 10 Miler --- race number 6 in the 2006 USATF New England Gran Prix --- despite the fact that the race conflicted with very popular half marathons in New Hampshire, Maine, and Vermont that attracted more than 30 team members.

We managed to hold on to first place in the overall standings with an 11 point lead over the Whirlaway Racing Team. With just one race to go, the Cape Cod Marathon, we have a good chance to be the first team since 1992 not named Central Mass Striders to win the overall title. We will need a strong turnout there to hold off WRT, which usually fields top 3 teams in Male& Female Open & Masters divisions.

Reno Sirrat led the way for the team with the best effort of the day - a 2nd place finish in the Male 50+ division to seal the individual Gran Prix title by scoring 9 points. Rick Stetson scored 5 inidivisual points with his 6th place finish in the Male 60+ division. New member Nathan Brigham scored 4 points by finishing 7th in the Male Open division. Joe Noonan scored 2 points as the 9th place finisher in the Male 60+ division.
